Advancing the Clock

Hey outlaws,

This is just a little "signs of life" update. You know, life moves a little slower down South, and sometimes it moves very slowly in Copperhead County.

As I mentioned in the last devlog or so, 2023 has been a very hard year for me personally the kind of year where you don't realize you've spent the past seven months in a fog until the clouds have somewhat cleared. And as far as 2023 in Tennessee, oh boy. "The worst year in Tennessee" has a lot of stiff competition, but this year has been, at the very least, remarkably shit. It hasn't really been fun to think about for fun gaming purposes.

But time is the ultimate Clock Advancer, and here we are now, sort of on the other side. We've had new art in the works, and continued incremental progress on finishing a goddamned book.

Soundtrack Update

Also, I revamped the game soundtrack with several new songs. I wanted to make the soundtrack more contemporary, and I'm really very happy with where it is now. I believe Copperhead County is probably the only TRPG soundtrack where Ethel Cain leads into the Geto Boys.

I'm embedding the Spotify playlist because this website supports it, but I recommend Tidal for the best experience.

Here's Some Art

This is a fun action piece from Adam, illustrating the concept of "disengagement" from a job.

And here's a sneak peek at a mysterious new faction, somewhat inspired by my buddy Calum, Steph Post's novel Holding Smoke, an episode of the best show, Reservation Dogs, and the fact that, as Carl Perkins reminds us, they made the first atomic bomb in Tennessee.

Hey, Are You Watching the Righteous Gemstones?

I hope so. A recent Vulture recap of the show observed, "The Righteous Gemstones is a mob show."

Yeah, no shit. If only there was a TRPG about that.

Stay Tuned

That's all for now.
